The name reflects two things: twenty years of living with HIV, and the belief that even difficult experiences can be transformed into something positive.
Positive Impact 20 is about gratitude, resilience, volunteering and creating something worthwhile from a milestone I once never expected to reach.
-
Absolutely. Sharing the project, following the journey, talking openly about HIV, encouraging volunteering, and helping spread the message are all valuable ways to support Positive Impact 20.

Ten years ago I volunteered on HIV education and community projects in South Africa. The experience had a profound impact on me and shaped how I think about service, gratitude and community.
As I approach twenty years of living with HIV, returning to volunteer felt like the most meaningful way to mark the milestone.

I'll be sharing updates before, during and after the trip through this website and social media. I'll be documenting the experience, reflecting on what I learn, and highlighting the incredible work being done by local communities, volunteers and project staff.
